Settings
How Silkpath connects, how big a crawl may get, and how it looks. Settings are saved on this device; crawl limits are also shared with your other devices when cloud storage is on.
Crawler
The crawler server visits websites and reads every page. Every report comes from a real crawl.
On the free Render plan the server sleeps after 15 minutes without use. The first connection after that can take about a minute. The padlock at the end of the box locks the address so it cannot be edited by mistake.
Crawl Limits
How big a crawl may get. Leave a box empty to use the server’s maximum. Limits are saved on this device (and shared with other devices when cloud storage is on) and used for every new crawl; the server’s own maximums always apply.
Reset to Default Settings puts the theme, time format, crawl limits, check thresholds and the Crawl Options on the home screen back to how they were at the start. Your crawler address, crawls and scheduled crawls are not touched.
Check Thresholds
Two cut-offs that decide what counts as thin or heavy. The starting values, 200 words and 100 KB, are Screaming Frog’s, so the counts line up with its reports. Saved on this device (and shared with other devices when cloud storage is on). A saved crawl is checked again with the new values when you open it; no rescan is needed.
Cloud Storage
Finished crawls are kept in one shared cloud storage, so every device shows the same History. Only the crawl data is kept, never HTML files.
Status
Storage Used
Opening a crawl keeps it. Use 0 to keep every crawl until you delete it.
Auto Re-crawl
Reports that are crawled again by themselves every few days, with the newest results saved to History. Set one up with the Auto Re-crawl button on any report. A single crawl at a chosen time is on the home screen, in the arrow next to Start Crawl.
Scheduled Crawls
Running While Nobody Is Here
A crawl starts when the crawler server checks the list. The server checks whenever someone opens the app. To also run while the app is closed, add a free timer (for example cron-job.org) that opens this address every 15 minutes:
No key is needed. The address only starts crawls you already scheduled.
Appearance
Choose a dark or light page, or let it follow your device (System), and how times are shown.

App and Notifications
Install Silkpath as an app on this device, and get a notification when a crawl you started ends, even when Silkpath is closed.
Install
Notifications
On iPhone and iPad, notifications work only in the installed app: tap the Share button, choose Add to Home Screen, then open Silkpath from the Home Screen and enable notifications there. It needs iOS 16.4 or later.
User Guide
The manual for the whole app, in two parts. Part 1 explains every feature, button and rule. Part 2 explains the data in a report: every section, every column and every filter.
